About Us

Digital Poverty and the Need for a Tenants Hub

Digital transformation is revolutionising how we access information and interact with services. However, navigating complex housing systems online can be a daunting challenge for many individuals facing housing insecurity. This digital divide, often referred to as "digital poverty," disproportionately affects those who are already marginalised.

People threatened with homelessness, under notice to leave, or in urgent need of housing often struggle to find the information they need. Despite having access to technology, these individuals may be overwhelmed by convoluted websites and bureaucratic processes.

To address this issue, in 2018, we created Tenants Hub. This digital platform will provide a user-friendly interface for individuals to access real-time information, explore housing options, and understand the processes involved in securing affordable housing. By combining the best aspects of digital technology with personalised guidance, the Tenants Hub aims to empower individuals to take control of their housing situation.

Our Aims

  • Bridging the Digital Divide

To provide a user-friendly digital platform that is accessible to individuals with limited digital literacy or those facing housing insecurity.

  • Empowering Tenant

To equip individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate complex housing systems and make informed decisions about their housing options.

  • Improving Housing Access

To streamline the process of accessing housing assistance and support services, reducing barriers and increasing efficiency.

  • Promoting Transparency and Accountability

To enhance transparency in housing policies and practices, fostering trust between tenants and housing providers.

  • Creating a Community of Support

To foster a community of tenants who can share experiences, learn from one another, and advocate for their rights.

  • Enhancing Digital Adoption

To work with and train staff and tenants to adopt a digital approach, ensuring that individuals have the confidence and skills to effectively utilize digital tools and resources.
